Dan Daley is organising an open weekend on 2/3 November at Lee Valley for spectators and participants to come and watch and/or try different styles of kayaking/canoeing.
CANOE POLO
He’s invited us to spread the word – we are entering one or two teams for the canoe polo on Saturday 2 November – more are invited – do you (or any paddlers you know) want to take part? It’s a full size pitch so a team will be of 5 to 8 players. You can either make up your own team or let Christine Norris know names and we’ll see if we can fit you in one of our teams.
We are still waiting for all the details, but this is a great opportunity to get club members along to try out some of the different disciplines on offer.
Canoe polo pitches are being set up on the flat water for all comers – separate competitions for adults and juniors.
CANOE SLALOM
Canoe slalom – whitewater paddlers can take part in the Division 3 / Open Slalom on Saturday on the Legacy course. Last chance if you are close to promoting to Div 2. More info can be found on the canoe slalom website or follow this link.
Spectate – watch the Premier Slalom on the Olympic course on Saturday
Whitewater race – not sure about the details but apparently a fast blast top to bottom on the Olympic course
FREESTYLE
Freestyle – on the legacy course before / after the slalom
It would be great if you could let Christine know your availability / intentions Christine Norris <river.runner@virgin.net>
